Yahoo!
Stores unprecedented opportunity!
Yahoo!
Stores have an unprecedented opportunity! The time we’ve all been
waiting for has arrived: Yahoo! has opened up the sequence and design
of the shopping cart process for customization. With all that said,
it’s like asking the question, ”If you won a billion dollars,, what
would you do with the money?”
Here
are some suggestions that might help you get started:
- Eliminate
confusion: include progress indicator: step 1 of 3, step 2 of
3, etc… Shoppers appreciate knowing where they are in the process.
buttons that increase flow in the process and deemphasize those
that could scare your shoppers away. Any text in red or that’s
cluttered can intimidate your shoppers.
- Intervene
proactively against abandoned carts
- Display
credibility indicators e.g. BBB Online, Secure, guaranteed…
- Maintain
your site’s branding consistently throughout your site. You never
want a shopper to wonder if there left your store!
- Consider
going with a single page cart if your product aren’t expensive
or complex
- More
to come next newsletter!
